Blog- Generally managed by one person or a small group, Authors post commentary, journal entries, video, graphics, and other content to invite and entertain viewers.
Wiki- A collaborative website that can be edited by anyone.
Social Networking Sites- Attract millions of users with websites such as Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, and Twitter.
Podcatcher- a program that looks for new podcasts whenever one is uploaded.
Peer to Peer- Connects computers directly instead of through a central server.
News Feed- Is a data format that provides users with frequently updated content.
Search Engine- Fasted way to find information. EX. Google
Keywords- Words you use to find searched topics.
Indexes ,Directories- Websites organized by categories. Ex. Online Books, National Geography index.
Link Lists- A text that has a page that is navigated to when clicked.
Shared Bookmark- A form of collaborative information sharing that lets you organize and share favorites, or bookmarks.
Phrase searching- When a user adds quotation marks to search an object so any other words similar to the words search will be searched as well.
Math Symbols- plus and minus signs . (+,-) used in situations to define such searches.
Boolean Logic- consists of three logical operators. (and, not, or) add two topics together.
Wild Character-(*) If you don’t know the spelling of a certain word use this asterisk and it searches the spelling automatically.
Related Search- preprogrammed questions suggested by the search engine that often leads to other WebPages containing information.
Copyright- exclusive rights to something granted by law for a certain number of years.
Trademark- a company’s logo may be protected my trademark, which gives company legal rights.
Public domain- when someone’s patent has gone away and the public can copy or use the material.
Libel -The communication of a statement that makes a claim.
